Uppsala University, Sweden, is engaged in several ambitious local and North-South partnership initiatives for sustainable development. They coordinate a partnership - SWEDESD between Linköping and Kwazu-Natal universities to build teaching capacity for Education for Sustainable Development and jointly address sustainability and global health. Specific areas of expertise of the SWEDESD center are peer-peer support for teaching training in sustainable development, and climate anxiety and mental health. Sustainability is embedded as an operational principle at Uppsala. Multiple education programs, including 22 distinct Master’s tracks, and working groups exist at the university which address sustainability, including a graduate school for Sustainable Development.
